Suicide: A Way "Out"
Suicide is one of many effects of bullying and is very common among teenagers.
The reason behind a teenagers suicide can be very complicated. Most reasons behind suicide of teens is because of the frustration and hopelessness of bullying and every day life.
60% of all suicides are in the US are committed with a gun. Overdosing is also a very common way of suicide.
Suicide is the third cause of death among young people from 15-24. There are about 4,400 deaths from suicide a year.
Suicide that results from suicide can be from any type of bullying, such as physical bullying, emotional bullying, cyberbullying, and sexting.
Some warning signs of suicide are:
* Signs of depression such as ongoing sadness, withdrawal from other people, losing interest in their favorite activities, or trouble sleeping and eating
* Talking about or showing an interest in death and/or dying
* Participating in dangerous or harmful activities, substance abuse, or self injury
* Giving away their favorite possessions and saying goodbye to loved ones
* Saying or expressing that they cant handle things anymore
* Making comments that things would be better without them
If someone you know is showing some of these signs try to help them or go to and adult.
